Ha jól tudom, ezt a típust tesztelgették annak idején nálunk is, hogy esetleg felválthatná a Nysákat, de motorikusan alkalmatlan volt a többletsúly (felszerelés, módosított felépítmény) hordozására. These Cars were made at "VEB Labortechnik" Factory in Ilmenau, my Hometown. It was a standard Car in GDR - Equipment was good, but the engine had not enough Power. In 1989, a new VW-Engine (same as in the Wartburg 1.3) was introduced, but this was a little bit to late. The last cars of the SMH-3 were delivered to the Soviet Union. Production of Ambulances in Ilmenau has continued, since 1991 as "Binz Ilmenau". (Diese Autos wurden in der Fabrik "VEB Labortechnik" in Ilmenau produziert, meiner Heimatstadt. Es war ein Standardfahrzeug in der DDR - die Ausstattung war gut, aber der Motor hatte nicht genug Kraft. 1989 wurde ein VW-Motor (gleicher Motor wie im Wartburg 1.3) eingeführt, das war aber ein bißchen spät. Die letzten Autos des SMH-3 wurden in die Sowjetunion geliefert. Die Produktion von Ambulanzfahrzeugen in Ilmenau wurde fortgesetzt, seit 1991 unter dem Namen "Binz Ilmenau".)
